Repertorium License

Repertorium joins documents that are not ours with a compilation that is. This page separates the two and says plainly what you may do without asking us and what needs an agreement. The line runs around the compilation, not around the law.

02Two things in one corpus

The documents are not ours. Court rulings, normative acts and other official documents are not subject to copyright under Article 4 of the Polish Act of 4 February 1994 on copyright and related rights. European Union law, consolidated texts and the case law of the Court of Justice come from the Publications Office, and reuse is permitted by Commission Decision 2011/833/EU. We claim nothing over them. Collect the same sources yourself and you owe us nothing.

The compilation is ours. The selection of documents. The check that each one has retrievable text. The resolution of citations to identifiers: docket numbers, ELI, CELEX. The citation graph anchored to character positions in the source. The amendment history of a provision. Declared gaps and coverage measurements with their dates. That work is covered by the database right under Directive 96/9/EC and the Polish Act of 27 July 2001 on the protection of databases.

Everything below concerns the compilation. A single ruling or a single normative act is not covered by this licence.

04What you may do without an agreement

Evaluate Repertorium. Run research on it. Teach with it. Test it against whatever you are building. Quote individual documents in pleadings, opinions and publications.

A result from the console is yours: you may save it, carry it into a pleading, show it in a class and publish a screenshot of it. The reservation in section 05 begins where individual results add up to a copy of a substantial part of the corpus.

You may publish your results without our approval, whatever they show. Including when they come out badly for us.

When you use documents obtained through Repertorium, state the source and the date of acquisition, and do not suggest that our compilation has official status. The Polish Act of 11 August 2021 on open data and the reuse of public sector information requires this.

05What we reserve

A separate agreement is required for:

• extraction or reuse of a substantial part of the compilation, evaluated qualitatively or quantitatively, for commercial purposes,
• redistribution of the corpus or a substantial part of it,
• building a paid product or service on the corpus,
• training, fine-tuning and evaluation of models on the corpus as a whole, meaning a set of queries large enough to reconstruct a substantial part of the compilation.

The reservation covers the compilation as a database, not individual official documents. Write to us about what you are building and we will answer with a scope.

06How to cite

The edition name and the snapshot date travel in the package manifest. If you use the console on the website and have no package, write to the contact address for the edition name and the snapshot date - we answer with a date, not with a pointer.

Terms travel with the data: edition eu-2026-08 is governed by the license file published next to the data. Where the file next to the data says something different from this page, the file next to the data prevails.

07What this is not

It is a snapshot, not the state of the law. The corpus reflects the sources as of the day the edition was built. The law changed after that date; the edition did not.

Some documents carry metadata only, because the source holder publishes no retrievable text for them. A citation that could not be resolved stays in the answer with a named reason, instead of disappearing so that the result looks complete.

None of this is legal advice. Check the official source before relying on anything. For Polish normative acts the official version is the Journal of Laws.

08No warranty

We provide the corpus as it is. We do not warrant fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for damage arising from use of the corpus, including damage arising from an error, an omission or a gap, also where we disclosed the gap ourselves.

Source texts come from public registers and we deliver them as their holder made them available. We are responsible for the integrity of the package, confirmed by SHA-256 checksums, not for the content of decisions made by public authorities.

09Governing law and language versions

Polish law applies. Disputes are settled by the court with jurisdiction over the registered seat of MateMatic Solutions Sp. z o.o. The Polish version of this document prevails; the English and Portuguese versions are translations for readers outside Poland.

Nothing in this document limits what the rules on the reuse of public sector information allow in relation to the source documents.

10Changes

A change of substance is a new version with a new date. A file at the same address with content other than the one announced is worse than no file. The version number and date are at the bottom of this page.
